Firehouse Five Plus Two - STORY

Originally released as a 3-volume album set in 1955, this CD more than any other gives you the flavor of the original FH5 lineup, as it was in the days playing around the phonograph in Ward Kimball's office at the Disney Studios. The personnel remained consistent during the 5 year period covered by the recordings in this set. In addition to the regulars Ward Kimball, Frank Thomas, Danny Alguire,

Harper Goff, Clarke Mallery, Monte Mountjoy and Ed Penner, Johnny Lucas and Jim MacDonald played on the first session in 1949. Dick Roberts filled in for Harper when he was out of town on location. When Clarke Mallery left the band he was replaced by Tom Sharpsteen, and then by George Probert, an AD at Disney's, formerly with Bob Scobey's Frisco Band and Kid Ory's Creole Jazz Band.
